James Merry er listamaður frá Bretlandi, sem er búsettur á Íslandi. James Merry is a visual artist from the UK, now based in Iceland. Hann er fyrst og fremst þekktur fyrir list hans í formi útsaums en einnig vinnur hann með málm og grímugerð. Hann hefur unnið í samstarfi með V&A, Gucci, The Royal School of Needlework, Iris van Herpen, Tim Walker og Tilda Swinton.

Við finnum vel hvernig jöklarnir okkar eru að gefa eftir með hækkandi hitastigi. Við hjá 66°Norður viljum nota daginn til að vekja athygli á þessu máli og leggja okkar af mörkum til að sporna gegn þessari þróun.

Dyngja ullarvörulínan er framleidd á Íslandi og gerð úr ullarblöndu sem inniheldur íslenska ull og mohair. Vörulínan samanstendur af peysu, stuttri peysu, húfu, lambhúshettu og trefli.

The Dyngja wool capsule is designed and produced in Iceland and made from a strong wool blend containing Icelandic wool, mohair and nylon. The capsule collection is comprised of a sweater, cropped sweater, beanie, balaclava, and a scarf.

It has never been more important than it is now for the world’s scientific community to work together to find solutions to carbon dioxide emissions. The team behind the Icelandic company Carbfix has developed a method for sequestering CO2 in stone.

Photographer RAX, Ragnar Axelsson, has been documenting the Arctic for four decades. He has seen first-hand the immense natural changes happening during this time and how global warming is affecting people’s lives in the Arctic.

Ljósmyndarinn Ragnar Axelsson (RAX) hefur myndað fólk og náttúru á norðurslóðum í fjóra áratugi. Hann hefur séð umhverfið taka miklum breytingum á þessum tíma og hvernig hlýnandi loftslag hefur áhrif á líf fólks í norðrinu. 

66°Norður og íslenski Rauði krossinn standa að samstarfi þar sem hringrás er í fyrirrúmi. Í þessu verkefni voru notaðar 66°Norður flíkur sem Rauði krossinn fékk í sínar hendur sendar á saumastofuna okkar. Lokaafurðin er síðan send aftur til Rauða krossins sem hlýtur allan ágóða af sölunni.

Plastplan designed and developed a 66°North snap buckle along with musician and product designer Logi Pedro. Each snap buckle is produced from plastic that has been recycled and collected by 66°North, making it a part of a complete cycle where sustainability is paramount.

"It can be difficult to understand what an outdoor brand should be able to do if you are not fond of nature or venture into it. It is also challenging to be a credible ambassador for a brand if you do not know the brand's history or experience its basis of existence on your own body and in the right habitat. That is why I went to Iceland. "

Meet Laufey. The 23-year-old Icelandic-Chinese singer, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist grew up playing cello and piano, inspired by her violinist mother and became hooked on the jazz standards of Ella Fitzgerald after digging through her father’s records.

Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir, sem kemur fram undir nafninu Laufey, heillaðist ung af djasstónlist úr plötusafni föður síns, ekki síst upptökum með Ellu Fitzgerald og Chet Baker. Hún lítur mjög upp til fiðluleikarans móður sinnar og lærði sjálf á selló og píanó.

"Troll Wall, Skessugarður in Icelandic, is a natural wonder at Jökuldalsheiði in the North-East highlands of Iceland. It is a long pile of huge moraine boulders on top of each other. According to legend it marks the border between troll territories. - This seems also to be the most logical explanation for its being there," says Halla with a smile.
