EsjaThe saga entitled "Kjalnesingasaga" tells of an Irish widow named Esja. Esja was very wealthy and lived on a farm. Much doubt has been cast on the historical veracity of this saga and the true origin of the name remains obscure. The story behind ESJA:
  • Most of our mid layers are named after Icelandic topographical areas. It is an amusing coincidence that one of our best-selling jackets, the Esja Jacket, is named after one of the most popular areas for outdoor activity in Iceland, the Esja. Esja is a 914 m high mountain located 10 km north of Reykjavik. Each year about 40,000 people hike up Esja. We can say quite confidently that many of those who climb Esja do so wearing our Esja Jacket.

I visited Iceland last year and bought a this jacket at Keflavik airport before I flew back to the US. It is the best jacket I have EVER owned, and I only wish I had bought it earlier in my trip!
