Vik i Myrdal

Vik i MyrdalThis is the southernmost coastal hamlet of the country and the only one without a harbour. The flat, black beach south of the village was declared one of the 10 most beautiful island beaches of the world by the Iceland Magazine. Amphibious vehicles are used for deep sea angling, fishing and highly interesting sightseeing tours along the coastline all the way to the country's southernmost point, Dyrholaey.

The only thing that about these gloves that make me think it is 66 North is the logo.

Being 66 North I expected this to be a product made in Iceland. It is made in Latvia and is made of Polartec. Oh, and despite ordering for the USA and my purchase coming from the USA, I am still charged a foreign transcation fee?!? But, on to the gloves. Being 66 North I expected a quality that would keep my hands warm. Finally able to test them this past weekend, I find out they do not do the job. I still need hand warmers. And we have not even gotten to the really cold weather yet. Clearly this is not what they use in Iceland.

Deceptively light and thin, these gloves are surprisingly impervious to cold. They are the best and most comfortable gloves I've ever had. One word of warning is that they are not at all waterproof, but they make up for that by being both warm and extremely flexible.
