Iceland’s First Lady at Vík in Myrdalur: Trendy in Primaloft Jacket

The Icelandic First Couple visited Vík in Myrdalur last weekend to learn firsthand about the volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajokull.

President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson's wife, Dorrit Moussaieff, is known for her trendy sense of style and was dressed in a red winter Vatnajokull Primaloft Jacket from 66°North.

The Vatnajokull Jacket is lined with revolutionary Primaloft microfibre material. Primaloft is recognised as having remarkable insulation properties. Many outdoor clothing manufacturers are choosing to use it instead of traditional materials like goose down.

Primaloft was originally developed for the U.S. Army because garments made from this material pack down well and are less voluminous than traditional insulation materials. Primaloft garments are soft, lightweight and repel water.

Primaloft is available as yarn that can be used for knitted garments. The material is also used as a filling for pillows and duvets.
