66°North draws attention at large exhibitions
66°North has been introducing its new winter collection at trade shows all around the world over the past few weeks. The two largest exhibitions were OutDoor Retailer, the largest outdoor trade show in the US, and ISPO, which is staged in Munich and is Europe’s largest outdoor trade show.
The reaction of buyers and journalists was terrific, and the company has received many inquiries about the brand and its market position abroad. The new winter collection hits the mark superbly with a very wide group of people. It consists of high-tech outdoor clothing like the Vatnajokull line, street wear made of high quality fabrics and the popular “Icelandic Living” collection
66°North CEO Halldor Gunnar Eyjolfsson says the exhibitions allowed the company to form new distribution partnerships which will soon see 66°North products available in six new countries for the first time. This will soon bring the total number of countries selling 66°North to 19. “It is crystal clear from the reactions we have recently received that we are on the right track. Our products have been received even better this year than in previous years. This is despite the global recession.” says Halldor.
The media expressed great interest in the brand. The OR Daily published positive feedback about the Langjokull Primaloft jacket, describing it as “a showstopper”, and also featured the history of the company and its roots in the production of seaman’s and work wear.
