THE MATERIALS

Textiles perform differently depending on weather conditions. Fleece, breathable fabrics and waterproof materials all have a range of uses in different situations. At 66°NORTH, we use the best materials available for our clothing, from advanced Polartec® materials to natural Merino wool.

Our products range from outdoor fashion items to highperformance garments for extreme climatic conditions. We understand your requirements, and we know the capabilities of the textiles we have co-developed to meet your needs. This gives us maximum advantage when selecting the most suitable fabrics for our products. And we never compromise on quality.

THE DESIGN

Iceland is a country of contrasts, and Icelanders have learned to adapt quickly as weather conditions change with very little warning. We believe this versatility has helped us become leaders in the design and manufacture of outdoor clothing.

At 66°NORTH, our multi-functional design philosophy uses a combination of advanced materials and technical solutions to bring you superb outer wear. We believe that beauty is in the detail. We don’t add features you don’t need. We only incorporate what is necessary for peak performance. We have developed many construction features that give you maximum protection from the elements while providing unparalleled levels of comfort and freedom of movement. And we’re proud to say we have won numerous awards for our designs.

BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS

We maintain a close relationship with the people who use our products. When we design protective garments for our workwear line, we go directly to the fishermen, builders and farmers who will wear them all year round. They know what they need, and they are an invaluable source of advice and experience for our designers.

66°NORTH is the proud supplier of clothing for the Icelandic police and fire services, with whom we have a close working relationship. The Icelandic search and rescue teams provide a modern, wellequipped volunteer rescue service, and their members wear our clothing as they work in some of the worst weather conditions you can imagine. Over the years, they have been an invaluable source of ideas for our resourceful design team.
