Reach the Top with 66°North
66°North and Icelandic Mountain Guides offer an extensive and realistic training plan, Reach The Top with 66°North, that should make it possible for most people to reach the highest summit of Iceland, Hvannadalshnukur in southern Vatnajökull glacier (height 2110 m or 6920 feet). The workshop includes walks and lectures about various factors one must consider when climbing mountains and glaciers. This is the second year which 66°North and Icelandic Mountain Guides offer the Reach The Top with 66°North program. Last year around 170 people victoriously topped the peak of Hvannadalshnukur, and conquered other peaks, like Mt. Heidarhorn and the Eyjafjallajokull and Snaefellsjokull glaciers, the last one in a freezing temperature of -30°C (-22° Fahrenheit).
Throughout the years, Icelandic Mountain Guides have been leaders in offering hiking tours on Hvannadalshnukur and other Icelandic mountains. The company has years of experience on how to reach the goal – the mountain top – each time. 66°North has been a market leader in developing and making outdoor clothes necessary for those who want to climb mountains and enjoy outdoor activities in any weather conditions for over 80 years.
We are pleased to point out that the price for the program is unchanged from last year, or ISK 29 900. For those who don’t think they need the whole package, they can buy 2 mountains and Hvannadalshnukur for ISK 26 900.
For those who participated in the Reach the Top with 66°North program last year or have already climbed Hvannadalshnukur there will be the possibility to have Hrutsfjall in Vatnajokull glacier as the final target.

About Icelandic Mountain Guides
The company Icelandic Mountain Guides (Islenskir Fjallaleidsogumenn in Icelandic) was established in 1994. The goal has been from the start to take Icelandic and international tourists on the untrodden path, to open people’s eyes to the magic of unspoiled mountains, to promote the protection of the fragile nature of the northern regions, and to increase the level of quality and professionalism in tourist guiding.
True to these goals, Icelandic Mountain Guides have stood at the forefront among Icelandic tourist companies when it comes to developing new tours, environmental affairs, education of staff and security issues. As a service company, Icelandic Mountain Guides emphasize a wide selection of tours, from easy one-day trips to highly demanding arctic expeditions, guided by the motto “adventure for anyone.”
