This Fall, the opening of the internationally renowned Kisan Concept Store marked the foray of 66˚North’s line of women’s and children’s apparel, outerwear and accessories at retail in Manhattan. Kisan is located in the heart of Soho, at 125 Greene Street in New York City. 

Based in Reykjavik, Iceland, the original Kisan store was founded in 2005 by Thorunn Anspach and Olivier Brémond. The store features an enchanting mix of sophisticated fashion, handmade trinkets, and the owners’ distinctive picks, which has made it an essential and memorable one-stop shop.

The New York store, also co-owned and managed by Olivier’s cousin Lionel Guy- Bremond, is Kisan’s first international post. Like its Reykjavik counterpart, the new store will present a unique medley of established brands, young creators, exclusive pieces and the charming surprises that have made Kisan a beloved venue for gifts and goodies for Icelandic natives and curious jetsetters alike.

The 1,300 square foot New York Kisan store carries 66˚North’s Fall/Winter 2008 collection. The boutique features pieces from Iceland, Japan, France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, and the United States. In addition to 66˚North, Kisan also carries brands including Vanessa Bruno, Jerome Dreyfus, Orla Kiely, Sonia Rykiel, Ports 1961, Farmers Market, John Derian, Sigikid, Annick Goutal, Sage, Jamin Puech, Sophie Digard, Isabel Marant, Donatella Pellini, Subversive, Iittala, Girl and the Gorilla, Tsé Tsé, and a large selection of children’s apparel by Bonbon, Caramel Baby, Flora and Henri.

In the opening party the collection from 66°North received great notice and everyone at the party agreed that the collection was a fresh breeze in women's and children outdoor wear. When asked what stood out from the collection many mentioned the Vindur jacket, Bifröst children's jacket, that is based on the old Icelandic sweater and the infant collection.
