The Embla children’s jacket takes the Polartec® APEX design award

Polartec® - the world’s leading maker of fleece fabrics - recently announced the company that would receive the APEX award for 2008. Polartec® puts great emphasis on developing new fabrics. The Polartec® APEX design award is given to those designers and companies that create excellent products from Polartec® fabrics. The garments and accessories are judged by novelty, design, cut and usability.

66°NORTH is proud to announce that the company won the APEX award this year. Many of the world’s largest outdoor wear companies use Polartec® fabrics in its products, and thus it is a great milestone for 66°NORTH to win this award, especially as this is the second year in a row that 66°NORTH wins this much sought after award. The Vikur horse-riding wear won the award last year. In all, 66°NORTH has won the APEX award eight times.

The jacket that won the award this year is the Embla, a beautiful and stylish children’s fleece jacket designed by Bergthora Gudnadottir. The jacket is made of  Polartec® WindPro® Highloft® fabric, which is four times more wind resistant than ordinary fleece material.
