66°NORTH takes the Community Energy Earth Day Challenge

66°NORTH is proud to announce that it has accepted the Community Energy Earth Day Challenge.

66 logo ensktBy accepting the challenge 66°NORTH has committed to purchasing 400 KWh of clean, homegrown wind energy. There were 12 companies that took the challenge and together they will purchase a total of over 42 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of wind energy. These commitments will prevent the estimated release of 24,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere – approximately equivalent to planting more than 21,000 acres of trees or removing 5,000 cars from the roads. Using wind energy is a clean, efficient and renewable source of power that is obviously eco-friendly and consumer appreciated.

“We are so pleased that this wide range of organisations stepped up to meet the Earth Day Challenge and commit to fuel-free, renewable energy,” said Brent Alderfer, Founder and Vice-President of Community Energy. “We look forward to working with these customers to spread awareness of the benefits of wind energy.”
