66°NORTH and Icelandic Mountain Guides offer an extensive and realistic training plan that should make it possible for most people to reach the highest summit of Iceland, Hvannadalshnukur in southern the Vatnajökull Glacier (height 2110 m or 6920 feet). The workshop is not only based on hiking but includes lectures covering factors to consider when climbing mountains and glaciers.  Throughout the years, Icelandic Mountain Guides has been the leaders in hiking tours on Hvannadalshnukur and other Icelandic mountains. In order to participate in the climb of Hvannadalshnjukur, then it is necessary to have climbed at least two of the other mountains on the list below.
