The Amazing Race Sports 66ºNORTH

The Amazing RaceCBS’s Emmy award-winning The Amazing Race opened their 6th season on Tuesday, November 16th (9-11 pm ET/PT) on CBS, challenged by the extreme, yet stunning terrain of Iceland.

While navigating the expansive lava fields and precarious glaciers, each of the 11 teams were protected by authentic 66ºNORTH Icelandic technical outerwear that is rigorously tested by the renowned Icelandic SAR teams and extreme athletes. The contestants and production crew traversed Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier, where a subglacial volcanic eruption occurred in Grímsvötn last November.

66ºNORTH, pinpointing Iceland on the Arctic Circle, was born 78 years ago in Sugandafjörd to outfit commercial fisherman. Quality and performance have always been essential to Icelanders who have learned to co-exist harmoniously with nature’s extremes. Combining state of the art technical fabrics with sophisticated Icelandic design, 66ºNORTH was introduced to the US last fall in Urban Outfitters and outdoor specialty retailers such as Paragon Sports.
