CBS’s Emmy award-winning The Amazing Race opened their 6th season on Tuesday, November 16th (9-11 pm ET/PT) on CBS, challenged by the extreme, yet stunning terrain of Iceland.

While navigating the expansive lava fields and precarious glaciers, each of the 11 teams were protected by authentic 66ºNORTH Icelandic technical outerwear that is rigorously tested by the renowned Icelandic SAR teams and extreme athletes. The contestants and production crew traversed Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier, where a subglacial volcanic eruption occurred in Grímsvötn last November.
