I just bought a second Kaldi jacket on a closeout from Sierra Trading Post. I purchased my first one in black about four years ago directly from 66˚ North on a moving close out sale. That jacket has been fantastic. It is made out of 75% wool, 25% polyester. The new jacket I just bought in red (a lovely blood red color I might add) is made out of only 55% wool, 40% polyester, and 5% polyamide (whatever that is). Both were made in Latvia. I'm disappointed that the newer version is made with less wool (it's noticeably less warm) and it's also made from a bit thinner material. Nevertheless, the design is classic and I will enjoy wearing it. Sizing runs smaller than normal (I bought an XL and I usually wear a M or L (size 12) in blouses/jackets) and the sleeves will likely seem a bit long unless you have long arms like Icelandic women! Sometimes I turn a small cuff back at the wrist and it works fine. Suggest 66˚ North start putting the percentage wool (& other materials) on this website for products.

I love the design and the cut is very flattering. I got a no-longer-available shade of navy which I love, and the Icelandic stiching is a very nice detail. The Icelandic wool is extremely warm and cozy too. The reason I give this only 3 stars is because I've only had it for like 2 weeks and am already having problems with pilling under the arms. For something with such a price I'd expect a more durable wool.

This sweater provides a perfect thermal under layer. It is warm and stylish and you can wear it in any situation like your office or hiking in the mountains.
