Long on European style, but falls short of being functional. Aside from the fact that the Glymur is cut smaller than the other 66 North jackets I own, it also doesn't feel as good since the Polartec powershield isn't lined on the inside and the seams inside aren't flat. I can see how no lining would make it more breathable for hiking/climbing...but often a light jacket such as this is worn with a short sleeve t-shirt and the seams can get uncomfortable. The main zipper on this model is also more problematic than others..and it wasn't simply a bad zipper since I tried two different jackets. Also note that the pockets are set high to clear pack straps/climbing harnesses, and aren't really made for handwarming. Overall, a very stylish jacket made with Polartec powershield...but there are other similar jackets that are better including 66N's own Eldgja jacket.

Glymur

GlymurThe Botnsa river runs from the second-deepest lake in Iceland, Hvalvatn (525 ft.), into the sea at Hvalfjordur. Botnsa river passes through a magnificent canyon, into which spills Iceland's highest waterfall, Glymur, which is around 650 ft. high and popular for wintertime ice climbing. People wonder about the derivation of the place names in this area and one delightful folktale, telling the story of Raudhofdi, explains the origins of some of them.
